Lol. Who do they have reporting at the Times these days? Check these very important details...Originally posted by SeattleUte View Post
Shocking! In his high school yearbook during his sophomore year, he wore a T-shirt bearing the brand of a skateboarding company, “Independent.”

He has only been charged. The trial is yet to come. From personal experience I don't have a high degree of trust in the press. Sad but true. However, I think this refects mainly on the readers' values. The NY Times is better than most but it chronically loses money.Originally posted by EuropeanFootballMale View PostWhat an awful story. I used to roll Indy, but last week while getting my son his first deck, I was checking trucks and the Independents seemed really heavy. I ended up buying Venture trucks - which I'd never previously seen or even heard of.Originally posted by Flystripper View PostI think they were trying to like him to Skinheads but failed. Does anyone remember Tracker?
Edit: Sorry, SU. I'll move this to another thread.

Best line in the article:
Other than that, a horrible situation.. . . in front of a soldier who had reported the widespread use of hashish within the unit. That soldier, Pfc. Justin A. Stoner, . . .If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

I had tracker ultra lites, but those cracked too easily. Im still an Independent fan myself although my last deck had Speed Demons. I've seen Venture, never skated them.Originally posted by 8BR View PostI used to roll Indy, but last week while getting my son his first deck, I was checking trucks and the Independents seemed really heavy. I currently have Independent trucks on my board. I used to roll with Venture. I remember when they debuted they had a little gecko next to their name on the trucks. Admittedly that is why I bought them. Now they have the stylized V. I miss the gecko."Nobody listens to Turtle."-Turtlesigpic

And my fave: Toy Machine deck. I love the Toy Machine logo.

Also, I would like to know the religion with which the other four who allegedly did this. Is there any reason the NY Times would not report it? If it's necessary to highlight the faith of the one who is a Mormon, why isn't it necessary to highlight the faith of the others?"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill
