    Camp out fun?

After reading the thread on the boys not being able to pass the sacrament because they were over heard talking inappropriately, I thought it would be fun having a thread about stupid things we did on youth camp-outs.

My ward did a co-ed wilderness trek one year. We had a leader that was very diligent in trying to keep us out of trouble. One night he was perched up on a rock, not too far away from a group of us, as we talked late into the night.

It was much later than the usually let us stay up, we started to get suspicious that he had fallen asleep. To test are theory we started playing strip poker.

Thanks to the Bishop's son, only the girls lost their clothing that night. I still wonder if that leader was just pretending to sleep so he could watch the show.

We put dead fish in our advisor's sleeping bag. We thought he would have a sense of humor about it. We miscalculated.

Did the same thing, except we put a dead snake right to next to his head while he was sleeping so he woke up with it right there Good thing he had a sense of humor about it though he freaked out in the morning when he woke up.

We snuck some of the YW from our ward into our tent on a YM campout. We told them where we would be, and they camped about 1/3 mile from us. After all the adults had gone to sleep, then snuck into our tents for the night...

To be rebellious, we once camped on the other side of the valley (probably a 3/4 mile from the base camp). We were pretty excited about being away from the leaders for the two nights we were there.

I think we realized how dumb our idea was after making the 3/4 mile trek half a dozen times back and forth from base camp.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf
