    Jesus Camp

Watching this clip makes me wonder if primary might be a bad thing.

They should get rid of all the Brain Washing stuff -- the video stands on its own for showing complete fanaticism. But it doesn't remind me of Primary at all.

I like how the lady calls out Harry Potter, saying he would have been stoned during Old Testament times. That part reminds me of when I was in about 6th grade and a kid told me I shouldn't be reading The Hobbit because it's a Satanic book.

I always wondered what the source of that gif was.

Reminds me a little of EFY and youth conferences.

Hopefully the Primary and EFY comparisons are TIC because that video is so far removed from my experiences as to be incomprehensible.

            Yeah me too.

Except that the kids at EFY And youth conferences are 14-18 instead of the 6-10 year olds in the clip. Oh yeah, and I don't remember any speaking in tongues when I was at youth conference. Oh yeah, and except for that part where they applauded that Harry Potter should be put to death - that part doesn't remind me of EFY/YC either. And they don't "wash in the Lord" out of a Nestle water bottle at EFC/YC either. I don't remember "breaking the cup" of unrighteous government either at the YC I went to. They must have done that only at the one you went to.

So yeah, except for those parts, - it does remind me of EFY/YC.

At the one EFY I attended there were MANY tears shed for Jesus, rock music was condemned, as was Dungeons and Dragons (for the exact same reasons Harry Potter is condemned by some today). These days I would imagine that there is talk about the evils of government, inasmuch as it allows gay marriage and abortion and gambling. There was no speaking in tongues, and the ecstatic state some of these kids experience is more extreme than anything I've seen at EFY or youth conference, but we ha our share of ecstatic charismatic experience.

Wait... Mormons have something against Harry Potter?!? Why didn't someone tell us? I could have saved a crapload of money by not buying my kids those books and taking them to the movies. I have grown to hate Harry with a passion. You guys in Utah need to keep us in "outer darkness" informed on these things.

BTW, what is the ruling on the Twilight suff?

It's considered female porn, so it's okay.

The documentary it's from, JESUS CAMP, was nominated for an Oscar about 3 or 4 years ago and it's available on Netflix instant. Very interesting doc (and also rather frightening, as you may have guessed.)
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.
