  • Green Tea Poll

I've recently been drinking this Crystal Light Green Tea Peach Mango thing that's pretty tasty and yeah, I'll admit it, gives me a little buzz. Today, I tried this:
    http://www.walgreens.com/store/catal...sku=sku1609942

and dang, it's tasty. And good for you.

Except bad for my spirit (allegedly). What does everyone think? Is green tea against the WOW? I actually haven't figured out my opinion on this yet, despite my drinking it. I'm also not sure if I care it's against the WOW. On the one hand, it is made from the same plant as black tea. But on the other hand, it's about as much like black tea as grape juice is like wine (no fermentation). And it didn't exist in America circa WOW.

There's a big discussion that DDD ruined with his foray into some silliness about herbal teas being forbidden if you care to search for it. Let's try it again without the hijack--my spiritual destiny's at stake.

At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I guzzle the Lipton Diet Green Tea like crazy. Truthfully, I don't give a crap.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

It was official church policy in Korea on my mission 20 years ago that green tea was against the WoW. I haven't heard any reference to it in America.

I would say Green tea is against the WOW because it comes from the same leaves that black tea does. The only difference is Black tea is fermented and Green tea isn't. Either way, tea seems like a strange prohibition. It is sacred in many cultures.

Serious question. How does the buzz relate to drinking red bull or rockstar?

Drink white tea instead. Far superior and lacks that hokey green-tea trendy-hype factor. And plus it's white! Everybody knows white is the color of all that's good and holy.

I hear it is served in the temple cafeteria.

Not even close. I limit caffeine intake to night shifts, so I'm pretty sensitive to it. IIRC, green tea has a lot less caffeine; I think it's even less than Mt Dew and Coke.

That was an epic troll by Triplet, btw. When we debut all the new named smileys I want this one named triplet:

Well, either that one or this one:

The real question is whether a person feels at liberty to make their own decision about something like this or whether they are going to have anxiety about what someone else in the church organization thinks. I suspect ER is in camp 1.

The answer is yes, it is against the WofW.

Is it against a letter of the law? Yes.
Is it against the spirit of the law? I don't think so.

Really? On my mission there 15 years ago is was supposedly okay, but I've heard GAs have come in since then and nixed it.

I had it all the time on my mission.
