I'm a bit like Sooner in that I'm not making up this stuff. I'm a bit unlike Sooner in that I don't mind people asking me if I am ok after a traumatic event.Originally posted by creekster View PostSometimes I think you are just chumming for inappropriate punch lines.Fitter. I don't think it's a commentary on Jesus so much as an oblivious artist. But, out of general respect for all here, I have chosen not to share the outrageous, sacrilegious and uproariously hilarious comments from a certain Facebook feed.Originally posted by Bruiserstone View PostI read some guys comment a couple of days ago on Facebook. He said he did not think it was appropriate talking about the picture even if Jesus did have, quote "an O face"! Amen brother!Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.

In my mind Jesus has a sense humor and looks at this picture and laughs too.Originally posted by Pheidippides View PostI don't think it's a commentary on Jesus so much as an oblivious artist. This is something I have wondered about. Most humor reliues on surprise of one sort or another (unexpected, etc.) If you are omniscient how could you find anything funny? You'd already know the punch line.Originally posted by Bruiserstone View PostIn my mind Jesus has a sense humor and looks at this picture and laughs too.PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Sometimes knowing how things are going to end make it even MORE funny. I can't tell you the number of times one of my kids (especially when they were younger) started something that I knew was going to end badly, and unless there was risk of harm to them I found it pretty funny quite often.Originally posted by creekster View PostI knew you would say that.

After attending relief society a couple weeks ago, my wife told me "did you know there's a 61% divorce rate in Utah."
...bullshit detector sounds off...
Apparently she heard it in relief society. I've heard varying statistics but they seem to mostly be around the 45% range, that's nationwide. Utah actually has a lower divorce rate than the country in general, though I think we're just talking about a few points. When you parse it out further and look at just first marriages, I think the divorce rate is below 40%. The rate is moderately higher for second marriages, I believe in the mid 50s. But then there's a group of people that just can't get enough of being a serial spouse, those that are on their third marriage+ have something like a 75% rate.
Another notch in that "wine during the Savior's time was actually just grape juice" belt, I guess.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I wonder what the divorce rate is for those that met their spouse at a church sponsored dance.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostAfter attending relief society a couple weeks ago, my wife told me "did you know there's a 61% divorce rate in Utah."
