    • Is this still a thing? Hasn't this discussion been put to bed?

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. There is a non-public forum. Those threads are in that forum. You can see the forum and its members by using the "view site leaders" link from the site's front page. The forum is called the Speakeasy. It is sacred but not secret.

I read about that yesterday. It'll be interesting to see what they find out about the people who have lived there long ago.

My HT companion went on a cruise to the Middle East and this was one of their stops. The tour guide talked about the Mormon connection and this area. He said they were a little surprised when this was brought up. Maybe they've seen all the Mormon tourist in Central America and they want a piece of the Mormon dollar.

                  • They should dig in Nahom first.

They're not going to find any "Nephi was here!" graffiti. That's more a Lemuel thing, and it will be more akin to "Nephi sucks!!!"

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Although the results do not preclude the possibility that people did at some point travel through the corridor, it’s most likely the first people to arrive in the present-day U.S. came via the Pacific Coast, the authors argue.

Well, that story is almost certainly wrong. For one thing, DNA and archaeological evidence from a number of sites in the United States and Canada demonstrate that humans not only inhabited North America at least 15,000 years ago, but were by that point pretty much spread throughout the continent.
