So how did the technology get disseminated? Are you claiming that numerous civilizations developed that technology independent of each other?

There's a helluva lot of difference in engineering a boat compared to building 800 foot square, 400 foot tall pyramids.

The Idea that Pre-classical Mayans were the Nephites and Lamanites doesn't carry any water.

They had a different social structure, different writing, different language, different foods, different tools etc.
How did they find cocaine in Egyptian mummies when cocaine is indigenous to the Americas?

Why are the dimensions of the pyramids of Teotihuacan and Giza nearly identical?

Why are the elevation of the two tallest pyramids at Giza identical, even though one of the pyramids was built at a lower elevation? And why do the two tallest pyramids at Teotihuacan feature this same relationship?

Where did they figure out how to build anything? Pyramids are one of the most basic types of architecture there is.

Actually, Tesla's and Edison's light bulbs were different. They had to be. Edison had a patent on the light bulb. Tesla's light bulb was after Edison's. In fact, Tesla worked for Edison before that. Tesla's light bulb was simply different in how it connected to the power socket. It didn't screw in.

I read somewhere that Edison really didn't invite the light bulb first. Some English guy did.

Tesla did came up with the generous idea of using A/C for power distribution. Edison was pushing his D/C crap.

Anyway, what was this thread about again?

Wait, so you think Lehi brought with him the technology to build pyramids, intimate knowledge of heights and dimensions, yet waited hundreds of years after his arrival to disseminate this knowledge to his small band of people to build a similar edifice?

You are such a good troll.

I was just firing off a snarky answer to Indy's snarky question

I don't know where it came from. I'm just throwing out questions. I can see that everyone has great answers to these questions too.

There were also some famous tower builders that predated Lehi.

Are you suggesting that Lehi and Sons stopped by Giza and took measurements before they left and then made sure they were passed down for hundreds of years before finally being put to use?

Yes I am. Are you claiming that meso americans couldn't, on their own, build a pyramid? What shape for construction is more simple than that? I made many pyramids with blocks as an infant. Did the brass plates contain blueprints?

And your theory is what? that Nephi brought with him the measurements of the pyramids?

I would guess it has more to do with the study and understanding of geometry.

I'm not suggesting anything. I just want to see if anyone has good answers or not. Apparently you don't.

The Bible itself is also a genuine artifact of ancient history; if there was any doubt about this it was settled by the discoveries of the Dead Sea Scrolls, and discoveries at Nag Hammadi and other places.

The Bible also has some of our civilization's greatest and most infulential literature. The Book of Mormon itself (which any reputable scholar regards as a 19th century artifact) is actually wholly derivative of the Bible.

I'm sorry. To compare the Bible to the Book of Mormon in any way in terms of historicity evinces spectacular ignorance.
Not regarding the Pentateuch. Yes, it is an ancient text, but there is scant evidence of historicity, and that's what we are talking about.
