1. Yesterday, I was teaching HP Group. The lesson, for those who are interested, was Pres. Eyering's April talk "Help Them on Their Way Home". To start the lesson, I dressed as Jean Valjean and sang "Bring Him Home". Anyway, we had about a dozen HPs in class. At about 10 minutes before the end of the lesson (which, in my opinion, was a pretty interesting lesson), one guy's phone suddenly cried out "Calculating Route", very loudly. I guess he wasn't enjoying the lesson as much as I thought. Remember that mute button brethren!
2. We have a Welfare Missionary couple in our mission. They visited our ward yesterday, and the husband gave a plug for the new LDS job search site. While he was talking about it, I got on it to check it out (The next time the primary kids do one of those "I am grateful for _____________" exercises, I am going to have my daughter write "I am grateful for a new building with 3G coverage in the chapel"). In an effort to see what kind of jobs they had, I put in some personal info so I could run a search. I should emphasize here that I am not that interested in finding a new job right now. Ever since then, this good missionary has been on my case. He sent me an email last night asking me to complete my profile and giving me the name of contacts in my ward. He called me today while I was at work to remind me to complete my profile so that my Bishop could see it and offer me assistance (Ha!). And just now, he sent me an e-mail with some LDS LinkedIn groups for me to join.
