Here's what qualifies as a Top Ten "Post Of The Day" on CB:

    http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...tml?id=5518366

For those who hate clicking over to CB, Shihan says:

Go to Jacob 4:14 and replace Jews with Archeologists.
    Here's the verse:

14 But behold, the Jews [archeologists] were a stiffnecked people; and they despised the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble.
The ignorance over on CB never fails to astound, especially considering it is primarily a college-educated crowd.

I read that thread and I still have no idea what he means in any of his posts about archaelogists. Also, I guess God is trying to deceive us so we won't return to him. Downright nuts.

Why does no one just propose that maybe God created dinosaurs and they died before man was created? Do people still believe that the earth was next to Kolob until Eve took the fruit, at which time it fell into orbit and death was brought into the world?

Seriously. What kind of person thinks archeology and dinosaur bones are of the devil? And I'm pretty sure Shihan graduated from BYU.

It's ridiculous -- and apparently a lot of people over there agree with the guy.

Yes. I've mentioned before my wife teaches an online class for BYUI called "Foundations of Science". The class does a very basic overview of various subjects like astronomy, geology, evolution ect. and tries to get across that religion and science aren't incompatible with each other.

Last week was on astronomy and one kid in the running chat during class shared that his mission prez taught that the earth was created near kolob and moved to its current orbit during the fall.

I guess if BRM or JFS said it in some book then people out there will believe it and teach it.

So here's my question...has CB changed over the years or have I changed? It's probably both but CB really seems a lot different hen when I first joined, which was over 5 years ago (I think it was that long ago). It seems to be overrun with right wing nut jobs. Maybe el jefe is Glenn beck in disguise.

It's been that way since I joined, which was 10 years ago.

Loco en la cabeza. Don't they know that the giant velociraptors hung out with Eve?

Finally, someone willing to take on archeologists. It's about time.
                    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

and the worst part about it is how militant and abrasive it is. i guess it's cool to be willfully idiotic, but to insult and ban others who don't feel the same way is just laughable. for me, it's made cb very easy to never look at..

I had a comprehensive pharmacology final this morning that wiped me out so I decided to take a break from studying today.

I ended up spending almost the entire day arguing with CB about one thing or another.

Yeah, but what about all the nominations for Post Of The Day?

Maybe people are nominating it because it's so ridiculous, but I don't think so.
