Is there a "none of the above"?

I haven't been to a Ward Pot Luck in 10+ years.

    Pot Lucks are gross.

It seems like it is always a free for all.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

We never do them because Super assumes that at least someone has done a deep scratch of their ass and then used the finger to stir the dish. Since she doesn't know who, she can't eat any of it not from a trusted source. That is overstating a little, but she is right about the fact that if you are going to do potluck you need to not reflect on the conditions under which some of that food was made.

I agree with both you and The Tick. Potlucks are gross and it is a tough way to live! I've had cat hair in more than one pot luck item. Hell, I can't even eat at buffets anymore.

One time my husband made brownies for a potluck. My son was about three at the time and was really into dumping flour and spices and leftovers together into a mixing bowl then stirring, etc. Anyway, the little tyke decided to shake Lawry's Seasoning Salt over the top of the brownies. My husband, undeterred, rinsed them off (yes, under running water in the sink) and took them on over to the potluck. The food was served during a stage performance of some sort so people couldn't really see what they were getting.

I don't eat at Buffets either.

It is because of the way the food is served. Not how it is prepared.

I don't eat at a pot luck in general because of both.

Now...I eat at CUF events because most of it is cooked on site.

If you are ever in Eugene I will make sure no ass scratching of any kind before dinner, deep or shallow.

I'm intrigued by the responses so far to the poll.

Potlucks are disgusting. I didn't vote because "inmates" wasn't an option.

I posted this poll because the bishopric and stake presidency ate first today in my ward.
