  • Revisiting the greatest religion thread troll ever

    http://cougarguard.com/forum/showthr...ighlight=choir

What does it say that people fell for it so completely and so hard? To this day no one has figured out the poster's true identity. He/she has an ex-ray like understanding of LDS. A very bright person.

Dude, everyone knows that Requiem is your wife, pretending to be an active member with concerns. When are you two going to cut the strings already? Jeez talk about a nagging guilt complex.

If Requiem's story isn't true, I've got three or four that are similar. In the end, whether or not Requiem really was SU in disguise is irrelevant. That thread cut to the heart of many of the problems in the church.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I'm not Requiem and I don't know who she is. I think she's a great lady, whoever she is, though.

That was a great one. Good times.

I like how she slid in the first counselor gave permission "(bishop was on vacation)" in the first paragraph so matter of factly. Brilliant.

Some mullahs thought it was Waters, Arch or me. But I saw those guys puzzling over who the hell it was, and they got sucked in completely. Also, I exchanged PM's with Requiem. A good woman; we shared a passion for Chartres Cathedral.

It was all brilliant. Somebody should fess up.

How do you know Requiem was a woman? Or that this particular passion was legit?

Oh, well all know that you have an impressive dossier on Requiem.

I agree with the theory that she was somebody's wife. She reacted to issus in a genuinely feminine way. On the other hand, sometimes she didn't seem herself, more masculine, and knowing too much about us. I think those times were her husband on her account. Just a theory.

I could tell she'd been to Chartres. We shared impressions.

Wow, that was a masterful troll.

Trolling is like sex to me. I think I could be pretty good if I put my mind to it, but I'd rather just get right to the good part.

Makes me wonder what in the hell I was doing wasting time on CB when I could have been sucked up into a stimulating conversation like that. Troll or not, it reflected a lot of my musical experiences in the church. I've had those kind of conversations with church leadership. I've felt that kind of rejection and the frustration that accompanies it. I guess that's where the true genius of a thread like that is though.
