I was thinking today on a couple bishops I have greatly admired over the years. They both were funny, personable and seemed to have a sincere interest in me and my family. What qualities have your bishop, or other priesthood leaders, had that you appreciated?

Understands that meetings =/= productivity, and that often, more meetings = less productivity.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

For this reason and many others, I'd pay 15% tithing to have DH be my Bishop.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostUnderstands that meetings =/= productivity, and that often, more meetings = less productivity.

Also refreshing to have a normal guy. You know, someone who isn't overly friendly and exuberant. It's annyoing. He wouldn't go to extreme lengths to shake my hand. In fact, occassionally he'd simply offer a half-smile and head nod.

I agree. I like almost everyone I meet in or outside of the church, but struggle with unconditional love. I pray for it, but don't try and fake it. Amazingly, I generally develop a love for those who often need it the most. Once someone has shared something extremely private, difficult or burdensome with you it is easier to feel compassion and love.Originally posted by Fiyero View PostSincere love
