I have serious issues with this attitude in the church and statement's like this:

Agreed, but I see people get tripped up in two places:

-The two greatest commandments: (1) love God, and (2) love thy neighbor. "Love God" comes first, and for that reason, people place their religious ideals ahead of serving others.

-"I come not to send peace, but a sword" from Mat 10:34-37. Same answer, same reasoning.
