Mostly, I think this topic is uninteresting, but my comment was meant to highlight scottie's grapevinian propensity to delve into any and all minutiae to nitpick with what the church does or doesn't do and if women suddenly started praying in GC scottie would proceed to use that fact against the church to open up a new avenue for his gainsaying.

Yeah, too bad there isn't some sort of forum where people who are interested can discuss the "minutiae" if they so choose. Maybe someone should create such a forum.

I was initially excited because in the April 2009 Priesthood session, Shirley Christensen said the benediction. Unfortunately, it turns out Shirley is a man. He also prayed in the Sunday Morning session in April, 2005, so evidently someone likes his prayers.

I can't ever remember a woman praying in GC. I also seem to vaguely remember hearing that women didn't pray in Sacrament meetings until an uncomfortably late date in the 1900's (I'll have to look that one up). I decided to google "why don't women pray in general conference" and guess what the number one link was?

I don't remember if a woman has prayed in GC, but I also don't remember anything about GC prayers other than some tend to be sermons and or overly worshipful of the FP and Qof12.

I did notice in the family ward in Provo I attended for a year that a woman never said the opening prayer of sacrament meeting.
