Yeah, too bad there isn't some sort of forum where people who are interested can discuss the "minutiae" if they so choose. Maybe someone should create such a forum.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostMostly, I think this topic is uninteresting, but my comment was meant to highlight scottie's grapevinian propensity to delve into any and all minutiae to nitpick with what the church does or doesn't do and if women suddenly started praying in GC scottie would proceed to use that fact against the church to open up a new avenue for his gainsaying. If we disagree on something, it's because you're wrong.

You're one to talk. Now that was funny, thanks Clark.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI was initially excited because in the April 2009 Priesthood session, Shirley Christensen said the benediction. Unfortunately, it turns out Shirley is a man. He also prayed in the Sunday Morning session in April, 2005, so evidently someone likes his prayers.

I can't ever remember a woman praying in GC. I also seem to vaguely remember hearing that women didn't pray in Sacrament meetings until an uncomfortably late date in the 1900's (I'll have to look that one up). I decided to google "why don't women pray in general conference" and guess what the number one link was?

Even google knows that Scottie has the touch.

In this case, the vast majority of the responses are about scottie's methods. How many are seriously responding to his original post?Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostScottie definitely has some sort of powerful thread starting juju. In the time I crafted my response to this, over 20 people responded. Who knew that praying women would strike such a nerve.

The bitching about scottie's methods is all about the mullahs' frustration over their inability to satisfactorily, on the merits answer his questions.Originally posted by JohnnyLingo View PostIn this case, the vast majority of the responses are about scottie's methods. I don't remember if a woman has prayed in GC, but I also don't remember anything about GC prayers other than some tend to be sermons and or overly worshipful of the FP and Qof12.
I did notice in the family ward in Provo I attended for a year that a woman never said the opening prayer of sacrament meeting.
