Attitude towards religion

I'm not saying Maher shouldn't be allowed to say what he is saying.

I just find it interesting that such a widespread condemnation of all religion is met with laughter and applause from an audience.

Does this sort of thing signal a larger movement away from faith in America?

This doesn't signal it. Go to the Y and listen to things said at a devotional and listen to the strong applause. That isn't a sign we are moving to orthodox religion either. You can't take small segments of the society and draw a conclusion.

The US seems to be becoming less religious as time goes on. That's what happens in the world.

And Bill Maher is a bigoted, bitter and hateful ass, despite his denying it.

But which conclusions are correct? Is there any way to accurately poll the nation on stuff like this?

I only attended one or two devotional in the whole time I was at the Y, but I don't ever recall applause. Is that an old school or a new school thing?

Maher is openly against religion. Many of his fans share his views. This is not necessarily a signal of a movement.

OTOH, I followed my gut to McDonald's today and right about now that is feeling like a pretty bad deciison.

Yeah, but you're a monkey. I'm giving Lingo more credit than that.

If given the chance I would punch Bill Maher in the vagina, repeatedly. Then I would probably kick him there until he learns God loves him.

You got me. I didn't attend any, so I think you are probably correct.

An unnecessary shot, to be sure.
