    Bishops discourage some from dating?

Lets say a young man is working with a bishop, has an addiction to pornography and is trying to work his way back. In the process the bishop counsels the young man to putt off dating, giving the same advice that he gives to others in that same kind of situation. What do you do?

I would tell him to clean up his life, date nice girls and say away from my daughters.

What was the rationale for putting off dating? Was it help him overcome his addiction or was it to protect the girls he might potentially date?

Could be, or lets say the bishop advises him to get a recommend and get in better shape financially and physically before dating and offers this advice to others.

          So much truth here.

What do you mean by "what do you do"? Are you asking us to answer as if we were the bishop, the guy with the porn problem, a friend of the guy with the porn problem?

If that's what he says, then what evidence do we have that this advice is connected to the porn problem?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Yeah, put yourself in the shoes of the bishop or the young man.

Young man: if I trust the bishop can help me with my porn problem, I should probably follow his advice.

Bishop: probably not worth restating my stance on this subject
