I'm not sure there is physically a better or more spiritual place for me than Temple Square. We visited TS last week and while the visitors centers had changed a bit, the buildings and monuments seem to hold fast to time. I love the buildings, especially the tabernacle and get goosebumps when I get up close to the temple and see the pioneer handiwork. In one of the visitors centers they had some old chairs that were originally in the SLC temple back in the 1800s. My son was very impressed by the chairs and stood looking at the carvings for quite a while.
In many ways I don't miss Utah, but there are two things that really pull me back there (at least for vacations) and one of them is seeing temple square. I need to get back to Utah in December one of these years so I can see it again at Christmas time as it is then transformed into something truly magical."Discipleship is not a spectator sport.
