Help with Bishopric message for the ward newsletter

I'm in charge of submitting Bishopric message for our monthly ward newsletter. Generally I take a one of the messages from that month's Ensign, but this month I've decided I want to go a different direction.

The problem? I'm stumped - I can't find one I feel good about.

If you were in my position and could send a message to your ward full of mullahs (no more than about 4-5 paragraphs) on a gospel topic - preferably one by a member of the Qo12 or at least GA - which would you choose? Does anybody have a favorite?

    TIA
    I'm like LeBron James.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

Is this your version of "I'm the Priest Quorum President"?

Sounds more like "I'm the Exec Sec, and the Bishopric is sick of doing these, so they assigned it to me this month, because I'm technically in the Bishopric." Just a guess.

More like ward clerk. The Exec Sec doesn't usually had authority over the website, newsletter, etc.

I know because I am the Ward Farking Clerk, everybody. Look at me!!!! Bow down before my righteousness!!!! I am not ashamed!!!!

I'm not going to throw out any titles or anything proclaiming righteousness. Let's just say that if I weren't there on choir Sunday, the choir would be singing a capella. Yup. The cog that keeps the choir from singing a capella, and by extension, the ward operating--me.

smoky, in an attempt to answer your question (shame on all of you throwing peanuts from the gallery!), I assume you would like a "cut and paste" scenario?

I really loved D-Todd's recent remarks to our ward a few weeks ago, but there is obviously no written account for you to source. So while his message was awesome, not sure if you want this to turn into a lot of work on your part.

Conference was replete with nice messages.

Also, I have been really into the concept of Liahonas this past week (for reasons made known elsewhere). There is an old talk called "Patriarchal Blessing:a Liahona of light" or something along those lines. It is really good. You may want to share a few paragraphs on modern day Liahonas at our disposal (scriptures, prophets, Ensign, HG...even the Liahona magazine) and compare these to the Liahona found outside of Lehi's tent.

If you really wanted to get the attention of the ward, write up as fact your own version of what the second spindle actually did.
                  Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

Something about teaching men correct principles and letting them govern themselves?

                      Yes. And thank you.

I would love to do that, but yes, I need a written account.

I need to have the message in today - I haven't really ever looked, but assumed we don't have these in writing yet either.

Talk about what a big tent we have created here at CUF and how your ward could do the same thing.

Thankfully my bishop hasn't handed over that to the ward clerk yet

Plus the exec sec handles the ward web site, I don't even have admin rights - thank heaven for small favors.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."
