I had never seen Elder Uchtdorf before, and was impressed with his bearing (Seriously, John Forsythe has nothing on him). Though I couldn't help thinking he should probably be running an MLM somewhere in Utah County.

I think something like this, a casual remark that somehow casts a negative light on someone not here to defend himself, an unsubstantiated and totally speculative assumption--differing from Non-Seq's in that it asserts probability without any foundation--should not be carelessly tossed about. I'm not saying that the Apostles are beyond criticism, but a statement like this should be substantiated, otherwise it's a total strawman. If this were a political situation, it would be something like this:Originally posted by Tick's wife View Posthe probably does or has

---Ladies and Gentlemen, I have never worked for any MLM.
Do you see what I'm getting at? I'm not busting your chops; I am pointing out that the remark missed its mark."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.

Okay, well, I see lots of negative remarks about Obama but he's not here on CUF to depend himself....so what about that one? hmmmm? I know you're not busting my chops.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostI think something like this, a casual remark that somehow casts a negative light on someone not here to defend himself, an unsubstantiated and totally speculative assumption--differing from Non-Seq's in that it asserts probability without any foundation--should not be carelessly tossed about. How's this: Elder Uchtdorf's voice has the potential for MLM voice over work.

I had to go back and check who posted on Elder Uchtdorf first, NS or tooblue. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Are you saying that the Leader of the Free World wears diapers?Originally posted by Tick's wife View PostOkay, well, I see lots of negative remarks about Obama but he's not here on CUF to depend himself....so what about that one? hmmmm? I know you're not busting my chops.

The negative remarks on CUF are about Obama's actual policies. If someone were to bring in a casual remark/accusation about something he had done, that was unfounded, there are many on this board (me, for example) who would rise up to point out this error.
I think the statement you made above is perfect...I can see someone with that voice in a Marriott convention room telling me how if I get in now, I can make millions, MILLIONS!"Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. My innocent comment has spun out of control. I was merely making an observation that Elder Uctdorf is a handsome, charismatic man. That, and I used to be an I.T. director at a Utah County MLM. I know a guy who can sell a convention when I see one.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostAre you saying that the Leader of the Free World wears diapers?

We are not trying to be inactive, people just think we are because we skip a few meetings or say a few things thaht are not Kosher to the norm.Originally posted by All-American View PostA lot of you guys don't seem to be very good at being inactive.
I'm watching conference as I type. I love lots of things about the church but there has been many sour things that have spoiled it for me that I need to have a renewal of some kind or move out of my stake. Personally, I think I'm on the fence and really need to figure it out. All I KNOW is that I am a child of God. That's about it.

Music and the Spoken Word this morning was great.
The performances of Mack's arrangements of My Shepherd Will Supply and Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing were incredible.
