Had the Elders over for dinner last night...

After dinner one of the Elders says "Hey...have you all seen the JS movie they are showing at Temple Square?"

We respond "Sure have"

He says "I know some people and I have a burned copy with me. You all wanna watch it again?"

Sis. Tick "Isn't that kinda illegal? I mean it is against the law and you are a missionary and all..."

Crickets...

Good night overall though. Gave the Elders a ride home after watching the movie. (They can't ride bikes right now because one of them is on narcotics because of an absessed tooth.)

The Tongan Elder says something along the lines of..

"Bro. Tick, just wanted to let you know that dinner was awesome. I actually felt like I spent an hour with my own family. You guys are loud, funny, tease each other and just hang out. That is exactly what dinner is like at home every night. Don't ever change. You don't know how awesome tonight was."

He has been out about 20 months. That actually was pretty touching to me. I remember being right where he was and realizing just how long 20 months is to a kid of that age.

Is it illegal? I guess. But the Church sells those movies for like $5 anyway, and usually just charges something to cover the cost of production.

I don't know, but if you're saying that somebody took a camcorder into the JS Memorial building and bootlegged the new J.S. movie, I think that's pretty awesome. Nothing invites the spirit like bootlegging at Temple Square.
