  • Wing Coop

Hey Buffalo Wing fans in SLC, local joint The Wing Coop just won another award at the annual National Buffalo Wing Festival in New York. This is the third year in a row that they've won an award at the festival and they were the only joint west of the Mississippi to win this year: http://blogs.sltrib.com/food/index.p...&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

So if you like you're wings HOT, then go check it out. It's always fun when a local joint I like makes good.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

thanks, I'll give them a try. I used to go to Wing's n Things all the time before they closed and haven't been to a good place since.

Oh yeah, Wings n Things was great. I think this place compares favorably. And I don't know what anyone's loyalties are, but the Olympus Hills location is most definitely what I'd define as Ute-friendly.

I may have chosen my sauces poorly, but I wasn't very impressed the one time I went there. I do like the relatively new place in Fort Union called Wild Wings & Things. The honey BBQ sauce there is very good.

I feel very fortunate to have a WingStop about 5 mins from my office. I get my weekly wing fix there. I also noticed there is one in St. George near the new theatres on the east side of town.

Does anybody here like Buffalo Wild Wings? If so, I'd like to hear your reasoning and a recommendation of something there that isn't drenched with spicy mediocrity.

They are pretty much awful. I went there a few times to see BYU back when the mtn first became available on Cox and I was still locked into my Dish contract. Bad, bad wings. A few of them were so dry and meatless it was almost like I was eating the turkey from Christmas Vacation.

Yes! My co-workers love the place and I can't figure it out. I would seriously rather eat wings from a place like Applebees. But BW's is huge and is in the process of doing to the Buffalo Wing what McDonald's has done to the hamburger.

Agreed. Wendy's has better wings than BWW. BWW has a better beer selection, though.

I think one of BWW's big draws (at least from those who tout it) is the $.25/wing specials. Personally, I'd rather pay $.50/wing and get better wings.

I'll stick up for BWW. I've only been there once, but the total lack of outside light really made it easier for me oggle other men's wives in there without them really noticing.

Also, I had a burger that was surprisingly good. I also had some assorted wing platter. I don't remember what the "actual" wings were like, but the boneless wings were pretty good, IIRC.

Note: I am by no means a wing connoisseur.

Well apparently there's a lot of hate for BWW. I never had great non-wing food there while I was living in Vegas, but their Blazin' Hot Wings still rank among the hottest and tastiest I've had. They made my eyes water so bad that my 3 year old daughter started crying too because she thought I'd been hurt. Good times.

I recently had a good time there.

I noticed that the sauce flavors there are very similar to the Wing Coop. Somebody is copying somebody.

Never really liked Wings and Things. Like the Wing Coop, their wings are kind of rawish. I like a thicker coating, (not a breaded coating, just a thicker deep fry coating).

If I have time, I'll get the wings from Iggys sans sauce, and then run over to Wing Coop and pick up a couple of buckets of sauce.

It's all about the sauce. Has anyone tried the "11 Challenge" at Wing Coop? Their 11 sauce is insanely punishing. It goes beyond "hot and tasty" to "hot and capable of dissolving your stomach lining." Not my tasted.

I love BWW because they had one day where wings were only a quarter each if you bought more than 10 and they would let missionaries sit in front of the big screen tv's all day while constantly refilling our Coke.

Could there be any better reason for liking a place? I think not.
