Do they dehydrate you and hurt your muscles? Some coaches Tell athletes not to drink them for that reason. More liquid comes in than gets cyphened out. I don,t think they hurt running or athletic performances. Defintlh don,t dehydrate you, have quenched my thirst. I am not a water drinker myself. Wonder if they have the negative effect some people say they have?

How can you not be a water drinker? There is nothing like a cold, ice water when you have built up a thirst.Originally posted by grapevine View PostDo they dehydrate you and hurt your muscles? Non-water drinkers and ProgMos who root for Byu: two things I'll never understand.

I hate drinking water. One thing that's been pounded into my head over 23 years in the Army is to drink water to avoid heat injuries. They also tell me that drinking caffeinated beverages will actually dehydrate you. I don't believe it. I'm a Coke drinker. Coke Zero is my current flavor of choice. I've never once come close to having a heat injury, or had my performance degraded due to dehydration.

Didn't you choose an Elder Quorum BBQ over attending the rivalry game? Apparently Coke affects your judgment too.Originally posted by Bo Diddley View PostI hate drinking water. Grapevine, when I was a kid the HS coaches would tell everyone to avoid carbonated drinks because they would "cut your wind". That was a bunch of baloney and so is the notion that sodas cause dehydration. That has been thoroughly debunked. The only problem with sodas is the high-fructose corn syrup in the sugary kind."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right?
