Thank you for your contribution DH. I’ll stock up on the apple pie and sugar toast variants.
What cereal do you eat?

I don't eat a ton of cereal, mostly because if I have one bowl it quickly turns into three or four bowls, but saw these in the store the other day. Has this been reviewed here? Any advantage over regular-sized puffs?

Yes, I’m on record as a fan of the Minis line. For the Reese’s, they have the same flavor, but better texture. The size and texture make them easier to eat, generally speaking.Originally posted by Clark Addison View PostI don't eat a ton of cereal, mostly because if I have one bowl it quickly turns into three or four bowls, but saw these in the store the other day. CTC Waffle.jpg
This one's a banger, folks! Based on how underwhelming I found CTC Churros cereal, I figured this was going to just taste like CTC in waffle shape. I was wrong. While there is a cinnamon sugar coating (as you would expect from CTC), the waffles themselves are maple flavored. The combo is legitimately delish. The waffles have great texture--they hold up to the milk and don't get soggy, but they aren't rock hard, either. Perfect density and great flavor. Legit best new cereal I've tried in a couple years. 8.3/10.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

Can't believe I went an entire calendar year without a cereal post. Sad! It might have something to do with the fact that I've slowed way down on how much cereal I eat, as cutting back on my late night cereal snack has been a good way way to cut out a few hundred calories when I'm trying to be more responsible. So I haven't really even been visiting the cereal aisle lately. Sad!
Our Elf on the Shelf brought us some Wicked cereal this past holiday season. It was ok. The caramel apple actually had a good flavor. And I could taste both the caramel and the apple aspects of it. But even then, it felt a bit one-note about halfway through a bowl. A big step down from the Apple Pie flavored Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which remains my favorite apple-flavored cereal.
The berry flavored was basically Frankenberry in ball format. So fine, but nothing spectacular.
Elphaba Caramel Apple: 6/10
Glinda Good Berry: 6.8/10

snickerdoodle.jpg
This caught my eye when I was at Wal-Mart recently, and I had to give it a try. It is a Great Value cereal and it is also a great value. It's unique in that, normally, a generic brand cereal is a knockoff of a name-brand offering. But I can't think of what specific cereal this would be imitating.
The box is massive and I think it was $3.49. But the best part is, it's delicious. Perfect texture for a cereal--firm, but not too firm. And the flavor actually tastes like a snickerdoodle. Right down to the back hint of cream of tartar. Seriously, this is really good, and you should go buy some. If there were any criticism, it's that the size of the cookies is just a little bigger than I want from a cereal. If they were 10% smaller, this might be a perfect cinnamon cereal. 8.5/10 Would buy again. (Have bought again, actually. A few times.)Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I bought a box of this a month ago and agree with your review. In fact I was buying cereal for the family last night at Winco and was thinking "where's that snickerdoodle cereal?" but then remembered it was the Walmart brand.Originally posted by Donuthole View Post

My 11-year old has a refined palate, relatively speaking. At least I think so. She loves Vietnamese bun and Thai Panang Curry. Devours sushi, and prefers nigiri and sashimi over rolls. I digress. She can take or leave most cereal. But since getting this, she has requested that we always have some of this in our pantry. It's that good, in her opinion.Originally posted by Lost Student View Post

Each of my 4 kids is less picky than the child above them. I don't know how much of that is biology vs. life exposure/experiences, but that is how it has worked out for us. My oldest is definitely the pickiest. Being on a mission in Germany has forced her to try some new things (though I would not say her food experience there has been difficult or particularly trying. In fact, most of the food she sends pictures of looks pretty amazing), but we have added a lot more variety to our meals--both at home and eating out--since she left for BYU a couple years ago.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post

Youngest tried Vietnamese food for the first time last winter and, two bites into her meal, looked me dead in the eyes and said "How am I 11 years old and I've never had Vietnamese food before now?" It made me laugh, as I think I had Vietnamese food for the first time when I was in law school.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

My kids are the exact opposite. The youngest is the pickiest by far. We had to choose restaurants to make sure they had something bland enough for her to eat. She is getting better, but she still scans the menus online before we agree on one.

Yeah, our youngest is the pickiest. She seems to like beige colored foods and we've mocked her for it in the past.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostMy kids are the exact opposite. Our kids are all very adventurous when it comes to food.
Our youngest was the pickiest as a kid. But we insisted that they try everything. When she was young (6-7 years old?) we had some yellow squash and she refused to try it. We told her she could not get down from the table until she had one bite. Eventually she took a bite and threw up. Years later she told us she forced herself to throw up just to spite us. We laugh about it now. She makes a living as a food influencer.
Our kids all thank us now for making them try everything and for exposing them to a broad array of foods."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

That's funny. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if I found out our youngest did something similar. Stubborn AND picky.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post
