That is why I love turkey and chicken breast. I eat them in almost every meal, with an occasional steak, pasta or seafood.

Has your head size grown?Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI needed some bacon fat because I'm making beans this weekend, so I busted out a package of bacon. Was going to cook it all and then chill the bacon for BLTs at lunch. By the time I was done, I figured might as well fry up some eggs before I cool the fat. And you can't eat eggs effectively without bacon. So one thing lead to another and I ate 2 slices per egg. In full transparency, I also ate 2 slices as they came off the pan before I even cooked the eggs so basically I ate 8 slices of bacon
also I don't feel any better at baseball now than I did before I ate breakfast

Labor Day carne asada and chicken tacos. Marinated flank steak/chicken with fresh pico de gallo and queso fresco. Warm corn tortillas tie it all together. I don't think the pictures do this meal justice.

Cost of preserving shelf life. Unsalted butter needs foil/paper to maintain its target shelf life but that's more expensive than wax paper. Salted butter needs only wax paper to maintain its target shelf life. Wax paper is cheaper than the foil/paper combo, so that's what they go with.Originally posted by creekster View Postwhy does unsalted butter come in a foil and paper wrapping but salted butter from the same company have only a wax paper wrapping?
UPDATE: After putting on my "expert" hat and answering Creek's question, I thought to myself, "Hmm, maybe his question was rhetorical and he wasn't asking for an actual answer?". Now I feel dumb for having jumped in like a know-it-all.Last edited by BigFatMeanie; 04-14-2016, 05:50 PM.

Smokers, immersion cookers, etc. are all out. The next trendy kitchen appliance: the hair dryer.
Yes, I Use a Hair Dryer to Make Roast Chicken—Here’s the Recipe
Roast Chicken à la Dyson
1 small whole chicken (3-4 pounds)
kosher salt
3-4 cups roughly chopped vegetables
2 tablespoons vegetable oil or ghee/clarified butter
unsalted seasonings and spices, to taste
½ cup wine, beer, chicken stock, or another flavorful liquid
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
freshly ground black pepper
½ lemon
...
2. Two hours before you plan to serve the chicken, remove it from the refrigerator. Using a handheld hair dryer on the Cool setting, blow air all over the chicken, making sure to dry any parts of the chicken that are still damp, particularly the underside of the bird and inside the cavity."Seriously, is there a bigger high on the whole face of the earth than eating a salad?"--SeattleUte
