I just bought this and this. Installed the SSII tonight. Will hook up the WiFi part tomorrow. Pics to folllow.

Right now I am doing a dry run with just the SSII. Have it set to 217 and per the maverick it is holding rock steady with just a degre or two fluctuation.

A whole new level of set it and forget it.

Oh and the stoker has some software that will graph your cooks. When the boxes came today, my daughter asked me if twas a geek toy or a bbq toy. My answer of course was "Yes!".

Ditto. Did they ever settle on a price. I followed their efforts a bit on some of the forums and their Facebook page. Seems like a lot of work went into this.

I will post more later including pics. But the SS was $169.

Installation was pretty easy. Replacing the pit sensor with theirs was a dirty job but not hard.

My ol' man is looking to replace the digital controller in his Traeger. It seems to be acting up and he thinks that may be the culprit. Maybe I will point him in the direction of the SS. Can somebody explain the added benefits of the blower and wifi?

With the Traeger you don't use the blower. The SSII is a PID controller which can be programmed in 1 or 5 deg increments. It controls the auger motor and blower on the trager to control the temps better. It can also interface with a stoker from Rocks BBQ. The Stoker has wifi and you can use your pc to monitor your cooks adjust temps etc....

What DT said. You can also run multiple smokers off it and I'm building a UDS next month. All I will need to do is get the appropriate blower and adapter and I can add that in

The install was easy. Just remove the two screws mounting the existing controller and pull it out. It is connected to the Traeger wiring with Molex type connectors. You just unplug the old and connect the new unit. Then you need to remove the existing pit sensor and replace it with the one provided and run the wire for that. That was a messy job since you're inside the pit. And that's it.

I went with the front plug sensor. Is there a reason you chose the installed on? It has always seemed in a weird spot to me.

I actually didn't care that much because I'm got the stoker as well. And the installed one was what he had in stock.

Do you not have the interface cable? I've ordered both now. Looking forward to them arriving! What software are you using with the stoker? I've seen some third party stuff that is suppose to be really good, but I can't find it again.

I do but I it somehow got misplaced in the chaos here. I'm sure it will turn up. I am using StokerLog.

There are some mobile apps too but they are all IOS and I have Android. There are links on the Rock's BBQ site.

You definitely want the StokerLog because the built in web server interface pretty much sucks.
