  • Eggs in a waffle maker

I heard on the radio last night in the car someone talking about making eggs in a waffle maker.

I've taken about three months off of my workout/diet plan and have gained too much and feeling awful. Trying to get back at it.

When I was on track, my mid morning meal was scrambled eggs (egg substitute 100% protein and I add in some cheese and/or one real egg for flavor), so I decided to try this.

(not my own pic--copied off google image search)

Worked perfect. Spray with lots of PAM. pour eggs in, cooks quickly, nice and crispy on outside, no mess, perfect.

I want to try this next time I make eggs with yolks.

Seems like you can throw it in a pan and scramble them up just as quickly.

No frying pan or spatula required. Faster cooking time. Better consistency of the cooked egg. No clean up.

Don't forget the waffle pattern holds the salsa evenly in place. I think it is worth a try.

And the main thing, you don't have to stand over them and turn. Put them in, come back 90 seconds later. Done.

Put them on the plate, drop the shredded cheese on, fold over, melts in perfectly.

It seems if you cook the eggs like this...

then you can also just add cheese with the iron open as well.

True. I did my scrambled with the top closed.

a waffle maker is a way bigger pain in the ass to wash than a pan and spatula. plus, how do you fit the creme fraiche and chives in?
