Last night we went to a non-chain steak house in North Indy called Peterson's.
I had the 30 day dry aged New York steak. I am not a steak expert, but it was fantastic. I had it medium rare without any crust/Oscar style, onions, etc. It had a great flavor, was perfectly done, and the dry aging was interesting because the steak was tender and moist without being juicy/runny or dry.
Stuffed lamb on chick pea paste with fig glaze as appetizer was also very good.
Seared ahi was OK, the piece of fish was nice, but the sesame crust and lack of seasoning made it a little mediocre.
All-in-all it was very good, I'll go again.
For those of you who may visit Indy, go to Shapiro's near Lucas Oil just for the cafeteria experience and the giant Reuben. Long's bakery is also a fixture in Indy and isn't too far from the race track and people wait out the door and into the street to get the donuts.
