My dad sent me a video of these guys doing Toto's Out of Africa this morning (which was awesome) and I've been listening to a bunch of their various covers. Lots of really good stuff.

The redhead is Mike Masse. We were at the JRCLS together. Really nice guy and has been playing at the Pie for years. he plays any chance he gets.

wow what an amazing upper register. That guy can really, really sing.

Listening to his cover of Wild World right now and just listened to The Church. Dude's got a really nice voice but I wonder if the vocals are touched up? They don't sound fully live.

I noticed that most of these videos were posted in '09 but a lot of the comments are really recent. I wonder what them going around again?

Listening to his cover of Wild World right now and just listened to The Church. Dude's got a really nice voice but I wonder if the vocals are touched up? They don't sound fully live.

Anyway, he's got some really good stuff.

Yeah some of his high notes are extremely crisp and it sounds like it might have been produced. If that is a true live sound then there is no way he should be spending his time singing at The Pie.

He likes the type of music we like. During law school he would bring his guitar to large class meetings, luncheons, whatever and he would play for everyone. He once did an interesting acoustic version of "Tainted Love" at a pizza luncheon for our entire class. He had everyone singing along in the Moot Court room, even some of the professors. I haven't listened to the YouTube clips but I do know that he has a solid singing voice live.
