  • San Diego Eats?

We're in SD for another day and I'd love some food suggestions for family eats. Seafood especially would be good.

I have a great sushi recommendation, if you're into that.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Not sure I could get my kids to go for it, but let's hear it anyway.

Ikiru Sushi. They also have ramen bowls and teriyaki plates, for those who don't like Sushi. They have a coupon on Restaurant.com; $6 for $25 gift certificate if you enter the word HUNT at checkout. Seriously, some of the best sushi rolls I've had. You have to spend $45 and pay in cash for the gift certificate to be valid.

Anthony's downtown on the waterfront is pretty good.

            In addition to the above...

            Relatively cheap and quick:

Try the fish tacos. My favorite is the salmon

            Expensive, but wonderful

Used to be one of these in Seattle but it went under. The first dinner I ever had in Seattle was there.

Read this article this weekend. Never thought I'd have any urge to go back to Tijuana (my first and only trip was right after my mission and involved me getting yelled at by a stripper), but food does that to me.

Maybe your Book of Mormon was blocking the view?

My wife's favorite place to visit in San Diego is Extraordinary Desserts. I'm thinking a nice dessert place like this would be popular at the new City Creek.

                          Creamcheese Brownie

                          French Apple Pie

Some other kind of Apple tort

And some red velvet cake and carrot cake we tried at another dessert shop in SD:

Not many of the places I'd intended. I wanted to go to Phillipe's in Little Italy for lunch again, but I couldn't remember the name and we ended up at Mona Lisa just a block or two away. Pizza was still pretty good.

Then I wanted to get fish tacos from Oscar's, but when we were ready to eat my wife wanted a place to sit down so we ended up at Fin's. I did like their lobster burrito.

We also tried that place for crepes, but they were closed. That's when we ended up at San Diego Desserts way out by SDSU.

I'm drawing a blank right now on dinner spots. I know we grabbed sandwiches/salad at Panerra Bread in La Jolla Village one night, but I can't remember where else we ate.
