Not sure if it's all stored but we picked up some Alaskan Wild Salmon at Wal-Mart in Centerville for $3.50 / lb. Frozen but it was dang good all the same. Grilled it with a lemon pepper marinade. $3.50 seems pretty cheap for good salmon like that.

Reminds me of the first time Mrs. D and I ate salmon after being married. She called me at work and asked if I had any special requests for meals, as she was planning out the menu and going shopping later that day. I requested salmon, and told her to buy some that hadn't been frozen, if it was available and the price was reasonable.
I show up at home to find an entire 15-lb salmon in the fridge. Hey, it had never been frozen! So I hopped on the internet and researched how to fillet a salmon. The filleting wasn't as bad as the pin-boning, which took me at least an hour. My effort was rewarded, however, as we enjoyed salmon fillets for the next month.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

Your post precipitates my occasional pity party where I bemoan the fact that there are no Trader Joes in Utah.
Sigh.

We have TJ's in Dayton, Ohio and you still don't have one in Utah? How quaint! To be fair, Super Wal-Mart didn't come to this area until it had been in Utah for several years.Originally posted by Katy Lied View PostYour post precipitates my occasional pity party where I bemoan the fact that there are no Trader Joes in Utah.
