  • My dinner date canceled. Help me plan my evening.

She's sick (and I actually believe her -- she wasn't feeling well yesterday) and just called me to cancel. I hope she feels better. Help me plan my evening since it's now freed up.

Find the most scenic spot near where you live, take photographs of it at sunset and post them online. Either that, or go to a sports bar, get drunk and see if you can come up with a suitable entry for the scars thread in one of the CUF forums below.

Pardon, friend, but please select one of the three options in the poll.

Tim[x], I don't cast votes, but if I were to cast one, it would definitely be for Option A.

Sorry your date had to back out, but that is no reason for you to not enjoy some lovely bbq.

If it were only a few minutes drive instead of a few hours drive I'd be your dinner date.

I taught five classes (7 instruction hours) today.....I couldn't make it to Raleigh unless Timmy were in dire need of my help. Plus, I'm going up there Friday if my grandma doesn't die first.

Unfortunately no. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, if we had the chance to move to NC (just about anywhere, but preferably the triangle or the triad) we'd do it in a heartbeat. We're moving to the east coast this summer and that's probably as close as we'll get, but we'll keep our fingers crossed. As is we'll be only 5-6 hours from our favorite beaches, and a good holiday meal with family and friends. I can live with that, even though I terribly miss the scent of the pines on a warm evening. We went back to visit last summer. I went outside to unload our car our first night there and tears nearly came to my eyes as I breathed in the sultry scent of the pines. There's nothing like the smell of North Carolina pines. It's simultaneously maddening and soothing and it calls out "Welcome Home."

                          Probably Pat's.

Pat's is the best. Some people like Sugarhouse BBQ, but I think their meat is dry. It has been some time so I probably need to try Sugarhouse again. Lon's in Provo used to be good, but they are slow and the food is usually cold. Never order ribs at Smokehouse. People tell me I need to try Joe Morley's but since they managed to sicken over 20 people at a party they catered for my brother-in-law, I just can't get myself in there. Q4U is a long-time SLC standard, but I would choose Pat's over the Q every time.

Lon's has always been cold. I have been there 3 times over 3 years and without fail it is cold.

I used to like smokehouse, but ownership changed about 8 months ago and it has been downhill since.

In summary, there is no BBQ in Utah County.
