  • Cool or tacky?

I think it's a pretty cool idea to have a little 4X6 tin full of spices to doctor up a mediocre meal at a restaurant. However, I can't even imagine trying to fix up a gross sauce on the fly with any sort of subtlety, though.

Cool, but impractical. I would take it to a friends house for dinner as a joke.

Unbelievably tacky. It's for the grown-up version of a kid who needs to smother everything in Ranch.

Interesting. It seems like most foods I have been served that aren't so good are either too salty, too greasy, overcooked or undercooked, etc. A little dill or cayenne pepper wouldn't help.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

Most of those herbs require some "cooking in" to work anyway--it's obviously a gag gift.

I think it'd be great for that.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah
