If you are ever in the 900 E 5400 S area of Salt Lake, give this place a try. (It's right across from the Sports Mall.)

My wife and I were facing some really long waits at the restaurants around the Fashion Place mall and so we turned to Yelp! for suggestions.

This place sounded a bit out of the ordinary, wasn't a chain and seemed interesting so we decided to give it a try.

It appears that this was formerly a Bajio.

It's kind of a Mediterranean take on that concept.

The food is pretty inexpensive but was really tasty.

The best part was the owner, Nick. The guy is super personable and happy. Hard to do him justice with words in a blog. Suffice it to say that my wife and I came away from the cafe feeling like we'd met a really cool and inspirational guy.

Nick suggested that I try the ground lamb burrito. I really enjoyed it. My wife had a chicken melange salad that was tasty. He gave us a sample of the schwarma and it was also very good.

Nick is from Bountiful and I suggested he ought to open a place near his home (closer to us in Kaysville.) If it was closer, I'd probably eat there quite often.

Ayway, if you are in the area, give it a try.

Sweet! That area needs a decent restaurant other than Italian Village.

      Out of business already.

The service was terrible the first time I went on opening day. Food good though. The second time the service was faster and the food was shrinking up.

When a newly opened restaurant starts shrinking food sizes within 3 months of opening, they are going to shut down within the year. Same thing happened to T-Koto.

That area has never been kind to restaurants. They had a really good gelato place in that strip mall that only lasted about a year. Too bad as it was every good as the gelato they sell at the Bellagio.

I'm confused. The place Portland Ute recommended 4 hours ago is now out of business?

I will make a mental note for future Portland Ute recommendations.
          Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

KL admitted that the food was good. On our visit, the service was fantastic.

Hard to fault the restaurant or the reviewer.
