Anyone have a good BBQ sauce recipe?

When I was married my FIL owned a BBQ restaurant. I had the recipe for the BBQ sauce and made it often (best BBQ sauce I've ever had). I no longer have the recipe and am hesitant to approach my ex for it. So I'm looking for something that is close to it. Not looking for one of those sweet, thick and gooey sauces, but something more on the tart and tangy side. Any input appreciated.

    Bertha's BBQ Sauce
    ¾ cup ketchup
    ¼ cup molasses
    1 cup dark brown sugar
    ½ cup coconut milk
    ½ cup pineapple juice
    1 tsp dry mustard
    2 tbs vinegar
    ¼ tsp garlic powder
    1 tbs teriyaki sauce
    2 dashes Worchestershire sauce
    1 tsp soy sauce
    1 tbs cornstarch
    Wright's Liquid Smoke (to taste)

Mix the ingredients in a medium-sized sauce pan and slowly bring to a simmering boil. Dredge par-boiled ribs in sauce and grill. Delish!

Tip: Whisk the mustard and cornstarch into the pineapple juice to avoid clumping.

    cheers.
That sounds soooo good. I'm gonna try it.

Yes. Step 1: drive to J-Dog. Step 2: purchase bottle of sauce.

Forget making it. Just mail order some.

My three favorite sauces (in no particular order):

          1) Cowtown. Wonderful flavor. Traditional tomato-based sauce.
          2) Sticky Fingers - Carolina Classic. Very nice mustard-based sauce. Has a little bit of a kick.
          3) Salt Lick Original. Not sure how to describe this one. Other than awesome.

I actually think it tastes like Wingers sauce.

I think you can get the recipe without dealing with the ex.

Simply approach your ex-FIL and say, "I'm sorry things didn't work out with your daughter, but you have the best damn BBQ sauce on the planet. Is there no help for the widow's son?"

It is bound to work. Especially if he's a Freemason.
