  • So what's so great about Sea Salt?

I'm seeing sea salt everywhere. Mrs. PH came home with sea salt brownies from Trader Joe's, I see it sold separately and I even saw a Ben & Jerry's flavor that advertised sea salt. Should I change the way I see salt?
I have nothing else to say at this time.

I started a thread once about the new French Fries advertised at Wendy's that feature sea salt.

You were wrong about the fries, though.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

No, he wasn't. Same sucky fries with sea salt and some potato skin on there.

I don't get it either, but chocolate brownies with sea salt sound delicious. Sweet and salty... Mmmm.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

the salt enhances the flavor of the chocolate, makes it more . . . chocolaty.

Nothing. What is really annoying is when patients who are supposed to be restricting their sodium tell you "don't worry I only use sea salt ".

I do remember the Sofia Vergara character on Modern Family putting salt in her chocolate milk to enhance the flavor. We keep saying we're going to try it, but only remember it as we're putting away the empty glass.

And, of course, this is a gratuitous opportunity to post a pic of her, but I will resist the urge.

No, what you really want is a clip of her mixing salt into the chocolate milk.

I believe there was some discussion on the board about that scene, but the conversation focused not on what she was mixing, but how she was mixing it. Very rhythmical.

edit: I see MG beat me to it. To add something, I'll post this:

I think its become popular ever since Al Pacino started sporting a goiter. Our American cult of celebrity and all.
