Like Olive Garden, Jersey Shore is not Italian. It's what dumb Americans think is Italian.

As franchise eating places go, the Olive Garden is okay if you're looking for a place to feed the family fairly quickly. I like that big salad you get to start off the meal.

I can see why Sioux City would be excited about one coming to town. I can also see why snobby Italophiles would look down their noses at the offerings there.
        Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

It's better than Applebee's and The Cracker Barrel.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

              combined?

personally, I don't know that I'd waste money at any of those three restaurants, but then I am not limited by what's available in a smaller sized town.

Never eaten at The Cracker Barrel, so I can't comment. But I have eaten at Applebee's and would eat there before OG.

That's the whole point, isn't it? According to the article, this is the second OG in the entire state. I am guessing they don't have a lot of options.

yeah, which is why I qualified my stance with my circumstances. I can understand why someone with limited options would choose an OG, maybe even like it.

When one is in the mood for a good chicken fried steak, where would one go?

This doesn't explain my inlaws, unfortunately.

My wife played a joke on me and gave her parents a Xmas gift card to Olive Garden and sent it to them from me. I was embarrassed but the inlaws were so happy. They love that place and eat there at least twice a month.

I apologized to them later and explained the joke but my MIL said, "I don't get why you don't like that place. The food is really very good."

What if you are in a crunch?

                                Would Cracker Barrel be acceptable?
