  • Good Places to Eat in Ogden?

I realize the title of this thread is a contradiction in terms, but I'm curious if there's anywhere decent to eat out up there?

    Or even near Ogden.

    Thanks.

Union Grill in the old Union Pacific building is pretty good.

Ye Lion's Den on 36th and Washington is quite good. The atmosphere is a bit depressing (medieval theme) but the food is plentiful and flavorful. It is a bit pricey, but you can usually find a good coupon online.

Utah Noodle gets a lot of hype, but aside from the jumbo fried shrimp (and I mean jumbo) the food is just average.

One of the Mexican places called El Paisa that I mentioned in another thread is up there.

Tona and Bistro 258 (both on 25th st.) are pretty good. And of course Rooster's is also a popular choice.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Is Javier's still around? There used to be a couple of locations when I lived in Utah. It was tasty.

I had Javier (Jr.) in class one semester. The kid was brilliant.

My grandmother lives in Ogden and makes the best date cookies in the world. Tell her I sent you.

I would imagine it is. The place has always been very popular.

Go up to Brigham City to Maddux. Pretty good steaks and excellent rolls with raspberry butter. Yum.

Get her recipe and post it. I'd like to try these cookies and who knows when I'll get to Ogden.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.
