I don't really like onions, I can't imagine one made from copper would taste any better.

Hey my brother works at The Copper Onion, UteStar and DDD, go dine and tell me everything! I really wish I could go there and support my brother. He works like 70 hours a week and is pretty at the beck and call of the head chef/owner. But such is the life of a greenie chef. Is that how you spell that? greenie? greeny?

You know how President Hinckley said he doesn't worry about those who pray? The same can be said for men who are self-aware enough to know when there's a life to be lived outside of the world of video games. - Anonymous

I went shortly after it opened after you suggested it but never bothered to type a review because I was too busy with other banal posts. The service was pretty poor when it first opened, but I attributed that to new-restaurant-struggles-to-lure-good-waiters-until-showing-they'll-be-around-awhile. The service has since improved steadily and was very good when I went there for lunch two days ago. The food remains as good as it was when the place opened. I <3 the carbonara so I usually get that, but the sandwiches are good as well. Dessert menu is excellent.

Hey thanks BBB! If I lived in SLC I would likely eat there often just to support the bro. but I have also heard that their menu is great and that their food is pretty great as well, so that's a plus.

The lovely wife and I went this weekend. It was good. We liked it. We ordered the following:

The potatis bravas fried potatoes with spicy aioli - The potatoes here were absolutely terrific. It was drenched (literally drenched) in paprika with this sauce. The sauce was decent...but this appetizer was made terrific with how well they cooked the potatoes.

The Copper Onion Burger - terrific. The hamburger meat was cooked very well. The rest of the burger had the right toppings...the steak fries were pretty good as well.

The Roasted Ranch Heirloom chicken with roasted garlic, red potatoes and vegetables. This was very good as well. The chicken was cooked well...the sauce it was in was tasty. The potatoes (just a couple of 'em) were well done. Thumbs up.

Overall, a good experience. Not too romantic, kind of a hustle and bustle type of place...but good food and we enjoyed ourselves. Entire meal cost around $40 or so.
