        Cream of mushroom soup in recipes

        Went to a "brunch" at my SIL's house yesterday. It was at 9am (hence the scare quotes). She made two breakfast casseroles. Both consisted of eggs, sausage, and COM soup. One of them had canned sliced mushrooms on top. Neither casserole was very good.

        The muffins and fresh fruit were good, and the DMD with a dash of OJ was excellent.

          i do not understand canned mushrooms. disgusting, and why not just buy sliced white mushrooms for $1.99?

            Our brunch also included two breakfast casseroles I made. Neither had COM, though. One of them was pretty good.

              How did I miss this thread? We ate it all the time with chicken/pork, rice, and green beans. COM was my wife's go-to meal before she learned how to cook. It makes me nostalgic for Wymount.

                It's good to see that four years later I have exactly the same feelings about cream of mushroom soup. I had no recollection of this thread. A foolish consistency is truly the hobgoblin of little minds. I am living proof.
