Good to know. Now I'm hungry. Any recommendations? I've been told to get the Trailer Park but to make it extra trashy. I'd also like to try the Democrat, but it's vegetarian so I'm skeptical."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I continue to enjoy an infrequent indulgence of the two-for-a-buck tacos at Jack's, but I'm sure they're absolutely horrible for me. On the other hand, I try to emulate Warren Buffet in my investing, why not eating? I like his admission that “I checked the actuarial tables, and the lowest death rate is among six-year-olds. So I decided to eat like a six-year-old.” Still, fast food and five Cokes everyday seems a bit excessive.

When I am in Utah County, my guilty pleasure is Italian Place steak and everything sandwich. One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

Wrong thread, dude. Democrat, Republican, Independent, Dirty Sanchez... They are all good. I like everything I have tried. I'm in Utah only every couple of years, but I make it a point to go there. How can you beat a Steak & Everything?Originally posted by snowcat View PostWhen I am in Utah County, my guilty pleasure is Italian Place steak and everything sandwich.
Can you imagine how good the Tacos would be if The Italian Place made them?

I went fried avocado and green chile pork. Both were very good. The chips and queso was the best part of the meal. Biggest problem was the drinks. I have no idea what is what since its some weird local brand thing. Ended up with something like a dr pepper."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Where is this? During the '70s, there was one in a ramshackle building close to campus, across the street from Kinko's and around the corner from El Azteca, and one on University. I assumed they were gone. I consumed many a steak and everything back then.Originally posted by snowcat View PostWhen I am in Utah County, my guilty pleasure is Italian Place steak and everything sandwich.

I had the Democrat in January at the original Austin location. Thought it was great, but it had a big piece of sausage on it.Originally posted by Moliere View PostGood to know. Now I'm hungry. El Azteca is gone too. I remember going there with my parents in about 1965. Then I used to take girls there while at BYU, in the last 70's and early 80's, and I took my Dad out to dinner there in 2002. And I went to take my wife there in 2012, and it was gone.Last edited by clackamascoug; 02-27-2015, 10:23 AM.

There is still one in Orem I believe. I often go to one in Spanish Fork.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostWhere is this? The Italian Place was gone for many years and then they came back. I know the owner. Cool dude."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

I don't care about revisiting El Azteca, but an Italian Place pit stop is definitely on the list for our next trip to the UC.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostEl Azteca is not gone. They moved.
