  • The downlow of the KFC Double Down

Since this has to do with marketing meat I thought the diner would be appropriate as anywhere. Make sure to watch the video in the top right of the screen, it's entertaining.

You may have seen commercials for Kentucky Fried Chicken's infamous "Double Down" sandwich, which features 2 pieces of boneless chicken in place of a bun.

The ads feature young men acting 'manly,' but the company is taking the concept to a controversial level -- paying young college women to flaunt the bunless chicken sandwich's logo on their backsides.
I can already imagine the new definitions of "chicken sandwich" being written on urbandictionary.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

They just need to cut their losses and discontinue the sandwich. It looks disgusting.

Advertising's connections to Freudian psychoanalysis are deep and enduring. Ed Bernays, who helped develop the modern practice of public relations, was Freud's nephew.

Reportedly, Freud did not appreciate his nephew's initiatives.
We all trust our own unorthodoxies.

First of all, it looks delicious.

Second of all, how can putting the Double Down KFC logo on college women's sweat pants be slightly controversial? How is that more objectifying than what Victoria and everyone else is putting on them? Sexy. Juice. Even common words or sports teams is no less offensive than a KFC logo.

I'm in. Bring on the menage-a-trois ads.
