Salt Lake's Little World is a HOLE. It is neither the height of cleanliness nor high class cuisine.

It does, however, have the best Chinese food I've ever eaten in Utah. We unwittingly ordered two entrees and an order of soup, and received enough food that we have been eating leftovers for three days now. The food came out super fast, and the veggies were fresh and everything was so hot it hurt to eat for a few minutes.

I found the egg foo yung particularly tasty, though the house lo mein was also also really quite good. I was less blown away by the soup, but the hot and sour soup looked delicious and I wish I had ordered it.

Excellent. City Weekly's Ted Scheffler put this place on his list of favorite restaurants along the Wasatch Front. I think this is the place where you can ask for the non-Gringo menu to get even more authentic dishes. True?

BTW, I tried Mo Bettah Steaks last weekend with the wife and we loved it.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

Sounds good. I'll have to try it.

On another note, don't ever go to Su Casa on 3rd south and 5th eastish. Worst "mexican" on the planet.

The menu itself has lots of frightening guts/entrails and other strange meat options, so if there is an even more authentic menu, I anticipate that it would have dog and horse on it.

Mo' Bettah is truly good eats.

That's funny, especially since I misread one of the dishes you tried as "horse" lo mein. Which would be interesting.

Interesting, but unexpected in an authentic Chinese restaurant in Salt Lake City, Utah. The house lo mein came with squid, shrimp, pork, chicken, and beef.

The downtown taco carts are where it's at.

Agreed, my wife and I love it, I grabbed some take out Saturday and like you, still have a little bit left I am eating today. The place was recommended to me by a manager at my work whose husband is from Beijing and said it was the best, most authentic Chinese food in Salt Lake.

It's funny to me that people could ever consider Kentucky Fried Panda to be Chinese food.

Anyway, I'm glad somebody else can confirm it's worth the trip. The entrees are ridiculously cheap, too—usually under $8, and often closer to $6.50, for gigantic plates of food.

Little World is awesome. Great food and decent portions.

It's been years since I've been to the Little World, but I used to be a regular. Good stuff.

Why the hate for Panda Express? They have a few items that are spot on replicas of dishes I've enjoyed in China, though in a country as big and diverse as China it's a fools errand to start passing judgment on authenticity. What I especially love about the Panda is their serving format, which was fairly prevalent in Taiwan though not so much in China.

I think I mostly dislike the thick, goopy, sweet sauces Panda Express puts on stuff. The dishes without the syrupy sauce are fine.

Ha! I love Su Casa, for sentimental reasons and their lunch combo. Bean burrito with a cheese enchilada on the side. Not bad for six bucks. Right off my mission I worked in downtown for about a year and we'd go to Su Casa once a week for staff meetings. I wasted a lot of afternoons downing Cokes and having some laughs at that place. I went there a few months ago and they completely changed the decor to look a bit nicer, but fortunately their ketchup/salsa remains the same.

Ketchup salsa is right! The relleno was meh, but the "taco" was an abomination. It was a grocery store taco shell with underseasoned ground beef and cheddar cheese. But hey, it was cheap.
