This thread is not about the TK Smoothie that used to be a really funny joke here, but the frozen fruit kind. I used to consume smoothies quite a bit then just stopped for whatever reason. A few weeks ago after an awesome day at Brighton I stopped at the Tropical Smoothie in Cottonwood and got a green smoothie. I'm not sure if it was because it was actually good or because I was still pumped from snowboarding, but that was one of the most delicious smoothies I can remember. Kind of got me back on it again. This is a thread for smoothie recipes and ideas until it reaches the natural conclusion of every other thread on this board and dies with a series of Uncle Ted Hunter Biden memes.

I rarely drink smoothies but I have no ill-will towards them.
Let me hasten this thread's demise and ask if people here think Hunter drinks smoothies."...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

I, too, used to drink a lot of smoothies. When I first got a Vitamix, I tried all sorts of recipes with it. After a while, I used it pretty much exclusively for smoothies (and the occasional batch of German pancakes).
At first, I tried green-ish smoothies. They didn't have anywhere near the vegetable content of a lot of other recipes out there. Kale wasn't too terrible in the smoothies, though it smelled horrific on its way to the blender. Carrots were my go-to vegetable since I didn't really even taste them. I got a package of agave sweetener since the Vitamix demonstrator talked it up. I don't think it was any better tasting or better for me than any other sweeteners, so after I'd used it up I never got more. Other common ingredients:
Bananas
Oranges
Oats
Greek yogurt
Milk and/or heavy cream and/or fruit juice
Frozen strawberries and/or Triple Berry Blend
It's been a while since my last smoothie since my dietician claimed my formulations were promoting diabetes.
And, to answer NWC's question, Hunter likely partakes of many types of smoothies."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

Jamba Juice is night and day better than smoothie king."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

How so? Like Tropical Smoothie is lying about the calorie count? Of course there are smoothies that are essentially milkshakes, but if I'm making it at home I have a pretty good idea of it's nutritional value.Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostI like smoothies. I also think they're probably not as healthy as they're portrayed and presumed to be.

My daughter makes a lot of smoothies. I should probably get in the habit. Whip up a quick one and eat it on my drive in to work."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? Those folks are just intolerable."

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Yup. It's like those Jack Lalayne juicers where they tout juice being super healthy for you. Pure juice is essentially sugar-water and you don't even get the benefits of the fiber with juice.Originally posted by falafel View Post

Hopefully with smoothies you're getting the fiber benefits of the fresh fruit but I suspect a lot of them have some fresh fruit and then quite a bit of added juice (sugar water) for taste.
I also acknowledge there are a zillion worse things you could ingest than pure juice or a juicy smoothie.

You can make them without sugar by using the sugar-free single-serving drink mixes like Crystal Light and such. It gives them the sweetness and flavor punch without the calories."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action.
