    Father's Day Meals

So what did you all choose to dine on this day of honor?

We had a pretty big meal with the extended family. I grilled about 15 thick t-bones which were served with whole roasted/baked yukon golds, grilled asparagus, grilled corn, salad, and raspberry chocolate cake. It was a simple meal, but one of my favorites.

I'm currently eating whole wheat velveeta rotini and cheese. Washing it down with a purple gatorade.

We experimented by using our pasta maker for the first time and putting together a bolognese recipe we got from Mario Batali online. The verdict: Successs!
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

After church Danimal and the older two went to Five Guys. I stayed home in our quiet house with our napping toddler. Happy Father's Day to me!
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

It stated out with me grilling hamburgers and chicken with just me and my family and FIL over and Mom and Dads. It ended up all my siblings and there families, maybe 40 people, there and adding more chicken and brats to the grill at the last minute.

I may be small, but I'm slow.

                Prime Rib.

I will add that I am exceedingly pleased at the amount of beef consumed by CUFers yesterday.

I grilled up hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, salmon burgers, and ribs. This was a meal for four, and it was great.

                        Sirloins and Lobster Ravioli.

                        Sirloins!

Good steaks were really expensive. And with one in softball all-star crap and the other kid in Australia...I got Sirloins.

So who's cooking their own Father's Day meal this Sunday? My wife would prepare anything I wanted, but I'm still in the mood to grill or smoke so I'm happy to make my own dinner. Not sure yet what to have. We were going to invite my parents or hers, but after entertaining on Sat night and Sun night, we might just do our own thing.
