So today we held a Cheeseburger Rally at work. We brought in cheeseburgers from 6 local places here in SLC, peeled the wrappers off, and blind tasted them for appearance, bun, meat, and fixings. Then we aggregated the findings and here are the winners:

    6th place: Iceberg
    5th Place: B&D
    4th Place: 5 Guys
    3rd Place: In-n-Out
2nd Place: Crown Burger (also won best meat)
    1st Place: Smashburger

Fun, but I never want to eat another cheeseburger in my life. And I am seriously going to look for a vomitorium on the way home.

My stomach hurts just thinking about it.

If you're ever in Texas, say, like, four years from now when you actually feel like taking up beef again, you need to try a 1/4 pound Braums deluxe burger. Absolutely the best.

I personally found smashburger to be the greasiest grossest hamburger I have ever eaten, but to each their own.

I don't like Smashburger either. Way too greasy.

That would almost be my exact ranking. I'd probably swap Crown and In-n-Out.
Kids in general these days seem more socially retarded...

None of them date. They hang out. They text. They sit in the same car or room and don't say a word...they text. Then, they go home and whack off to internet porn.

I think that's the sad truth about why these kids are retards.

I am taken aback by this list. I've never had a smashburger, but I certainly wouldn't ever put Crownburger or an In N Out above a 5 guys. There seems to be a disturbing amount of complacency with this list.

It was a blind taste test. When the results were announced, people were surprised by 5 Guys poor showing.

My own theory is that a 5 Guys cheeseburger, in all it's greasified glory, does not age well. The burgers were about 30 minutes old.

The appeal of B&D is the $.99 hamburger special on Tuesdays.

Another plausible theory could be that the burger didn't get customized the way it does when you order it yourself at the counter w/ all the jalepenos, etc.

I really don't have any thing against the In N Out-- I love the double double animal style-- I just don't even think it's in the same race as the 5 guys.

Iceberg Drive Inn (note the two 'n's) sucks zonkey. No surprise seeing them come in last.

Agreed. In-n-out might be a better value, but the burger simply isn't as good as 5 guys. Also, I now have to try smashburger as none of the other places on the list compares to Crown, IMO. If smashburger is better, it must be pretty damn good.

I wish Scaddy's had been included.

I tried Smashburger a couple of weeks ago and liked it.

I would rate 5 Guys ahead of In N Out. And 5 Guys has the best fries anywhere.

I need to try Crown Burger again it appears. It has been a long time.
