    I believe in science.

Thorough cooking to an internal temperature of 160 °F throughout kills E. coli O157:H7

    [. . .]

There are several reasons why ground beef may remain pink at temperatures above 160 °F. This phenomenon is primarily associated with the pH and the level of pigment in the meat, as well as the fat content.

Of course, you've ignored my main point: eating essentially raw ground beef is gross.

I've had some great steak tartare. That is not essentially raw, it is completely raw. But that's a response to your straw man, not your main point. Your main point was that burgers should be cooked until they are no longer pink. I stated that was nonsense and provided evidence to support my position. Now you're being stupid, which is a pretty good sign that you don't really believe burgers must be cooked until they are no longer pink.

It's hilarious that we're arguing over whether you over-cooked your burgers. I can't verify this, but I'm convinced your burgers were cooked perfectly and that they were delicious. I've got your back.

Thanks NS! I assure you, they were fully cooked and they were wonderful. Anytime you're in my neck of the woods, you've got one with your name on it.

Seems pretty clear what my point was, but we can let the masses decide. But maybe I'm just being stupid.

Notice how you brought up the 'no longer pink' rule, and then you changed the discussion by bringing up 'uncooked ground beef' argument (which I never made).

My point remains unrefuted: there is no standard establishing that in order for a burger to be safe it must be be cooked until it is no longer pink.
