    Pizza Cutters

Our pizza cutter broke tonight, right as I was slicing the first pie. I improvised with scissors (surprisingly effective, actually) but I am now in the market for a new cutter.

I had never given much thought before and just used whatever we had, but I have a feeling pizza cutters are like every other utensil...there are good ones and there are really good ones.

The main differentiation that I can see is between the traditional rolling circular blade and the traditional long blade. The one that I broke was the circular blade. I am tempted to go with the long blade this time around. Does anyone have a preference or a suggestion for brand or model?

I was nosing around and found this artist, Frankie Flood, that makes these cool pizza cutters as concept art. They are based on motorcycles and called "Chopper Blades." Unfortunately, he does not sell them, but they are cool, nonetheless.

    Gold Knuckle

    Mantis

    Psycho Pizza Cadillac

    Phatboy

    Pizza For Life

And my fave, Easy Rider (I would be all over buying this one)

I wonder if tooblue could design some of these bad boys? I would buy an Easy Rider, no problem.

Other options I found during my web research:

    Pizza scissors

Hand Slicers (these actually look practical...I might check one of these out)

And this terrifying concept...nothing like a fork and circular blade coming at your face while you eat

Ultimately, this may be the one I go with, the Bialetti Pizza Cutter:

Really? Imagine your kids getting at it and running around the house with a pizza machete. What other utensils of death do you keep around (besides the nyfork nyghtmare)?
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

        I can't really imagine that.

I have a pizza cutter very similar to that Bialetti. I don't recall where I purchased it, but it's basically the same thing. I love it! It's super-easy to use and makes simple, clean cuts really quickly.

That is awfully large for what is essentially a unitasker (thanks, Alton!).
