The offical Mexian food in Utah worse than Cafe Rio thread
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

You guys out west are so spoiled. Cafe Rio would step into Dayton and be the best Mexican restaurant in the history of the city. I have been an advocate for the many Live, Work and Play opporunities available here in the great Ohio Miami Valley, but the Mexican food options here are seriously dreadful. Horrible. I've been to every Mexican place in the area and haven't found one that is respectable. Even the taco truck by the Super Dave's beer drive thru is awful. Do you fools know how lucky you are to even be having this argument? Do you?

So really what you are saying is that there will never be a post regarding Mexican food in the "Thanks Dayton" thread.
The food at Los Hermanos is horrible. Twice I have laughed at someone who told me how good it was. They didn't take that very well.
There was a time in the early nineties when it was really good. The served some of the best fajitas I've ever had. Then something happened and it slid downhill very quickly. It was like watching a train wreck in slo-mo.
Sounds like FMCoug lives a miserable existence. Poor guy.

El Matador in Bountiful. I have never had quality food there, although many people I know say they love it. Maybe I just go on the wrong nights.
Also, we had my mom's 60th birthday party there one Saturday evening. The manager, an angry man who happens to also be in a wheelchair was very unaccomodating. He was pissed that we were seated for 10 minutes while waiting for my dad to bring my mom so we could surprise her. I wanted to point out all the empty tables around us, it wasn't like we were keeping anyone else from being seated. But it's hard to be anything but apologetic to someone in a wheelchair. So instead, I'll just anonymously bitch about him on the interwebs.

You think Ohio is bad? Try Canada.
My parents love coming down here and going to Cafe Rio and Los Hermanos. My mom is a huge mexican food fan and the best she can do up there is Taco Time. For a while there they got lucky and could go to Chi-Chi's up in Calgary.

That's good to hear. I used to think Los Hermanos was decent when I was in school (early 90s), and hearing all of the abuse it takes, I have wondered if my tastes were that bad when I was young. Now I have some small hope that I was OK. Did "La Dolce Vita" suck too? Because I liked that one as well.
