  • How often do you clean your grill?

I am meticulous about cleaning my grill grates. If I cant eat off of it, I wont cook on it. I clean them before I cook, and after I am done cooking.

I came across this photo some guy posted about cooking his Easter dinner and I threw up in my mouth a little. How could someone cook like that? I have bought bbq's off craigslist that looked similar. I am crazy? Do people just not care about a clean grill grate?

That's what I do as well. Everyone on the website was congratulating him on his outstanding food and all I could think of is clean your damn grill...

I clean it at the next use because by the time you finish cooking with charcoal there is not enough heat to effectively do the job. But before any food hits the grill it has been cleaned. I'm with you, that picture makes me sick.

What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

This is what I do too. Heat and scrub before I cook.
