My squaw is in St. Louis for a week tending to a customer issue. She loves a good meal and has a decent per diem. Can any of you recommend a restaurant or two in St. Louis?

I can't remember any but one that really stand out. Unfortunately, I looked for that one I do remember, and it is no longer in business.Originally posted by Tim View PostMy squaw is in St. Louis for a week tending to a customer issue. I'd get over to The Hill for at least one night. It's not that the restaurants are so great, but the atmosphere is pretty cool. It's one of the best Little Italies in America. I remember a place called Gitto's I think. Not bad, but if you're not paying it would be a decent experience. There are two bakeries there that make good subs and other sweets, I think one was called Amighetti's. It's right across the street from the Saint Ambrose Church on Marconi ave.
That's about all I can remember about it, we didn't go there all that often and when we did it was usually midday, not dinner time.Dio perdona tante cose per un’opera di misericordia

I spent 4 years in St. Louis and know the city pretty well.
There is a place called Bar Italia in the Central West End that is pretty awesome. http://www.baritaliastl.com/
Another place called Harvest is pretty good. http://www.harveststlouis.com/index.html
I second the recommendation to try out an Italian restaurant on The Hill. There was a place called Lorenzo's that is pretty good: http://www.lorenzostrattoria.com/

I remember Lorenzo's. I've never eaten there, but it was recommended to us by some friends that I trust.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostI spent 4 years in St. Louis and know the city pretty well.
